They have developed peristaltic pumps, which combine exceptional properties with very compact size. A specially developed tubing compression system, placed in an asymmetrical pump head of large diameter, handles the tubing with great care. This offers advantages in flow rate regularity and provides long lifetime for the tubing. Since it works well also with low cost silicone tubing, the pump finally saves more money than it initially costs.
Visualization of the pump activity in controlled systems like bioreactors by means of an incorporated integrator brings an excellent new possibility to follow culture growth and other process parameters. The LAMBDA DOSER powder doser is a unique laboratory scale „pump” for the controlled addition of powders and powdery or crystalline substances. It has been developed to make the usual spoon-like additions of substances into reaction vessels obsolete. With the LAMBDA DOSER the addition of chemicals becomes not only reproducible and safe, but also conforms to modern safety and quality regulations required in the laboratory manipulation of chemicals.
The DOSER opens new possibilities in biochemistry for the separation of protein fractions by salting out or for the addition of sparely soluble substances into bioreactors in biotechnology, e.g. for biotransformations. This prevents volume increases and makes product isolation easier.
The LAMBDA DOSER is made according to a patented design and consists of a motor unit, a distributor and a glass body with glass threads on both sides and one side neck for filling. The powder dosing instrument is extremely easy to set up and to clean. It is so compact that it can be placed without problem onto any reactor construction. The special shape of the distributor makes it easy to work with a great variety of powders, even “difficult” powders.

This pump extends the product range of the high quality Lambda peristaltic pumps PRECIFLOW, MULTIFLOW and HIFLOW, which have been specially developed for long term continuous processes like in fermentations and cell cultures.
Lambda's unique tubing compressing mechanics reduces pulsation and is very gentle to the tubing. This leads to a long tubing life and the long term stability of flow rates even with low cost tubing. The tubing economy is such that the peristaltic pump is paid back after the use of only 80m of tubing. Thus, this is the only pump on the market which saves more money than it costs, says the company.
